The work of one of fashion’s most notorious, controversial photographers – Guy Bourdin – is exhibited in a one-off collection of over 40 works at London’s Bloomsbury Square until November 24 2007. Having shot campaigns for Chanel, Ungaro, Loewe and Charles Jourdan, Bourdin made a name for himself with the erotic, sometimes morbid images he projected onto the pages of British and French Vogue. Watch as Bourdin expert Charlie Scheips guides us around the photographer’s most iconic images and hear Bourdin’s son, Samuel, talk about his all-time favourite photo in a rare interview.
This freakin rocks! Good job on the video, seriously.
Quel TALENT !
whats extreme about it, its what photography should be like, might have been extreme in 1965 but unfortunatelly, for the next 50 years till this moment, fashion editorials became a pathetic rip-off and repetition of the revolutionary competitive scene of the 60s/early 70s of the likes of Bourdin, Newton or Bob Ricahardson…
he is my favorite photographer. just stunning images. the way he sets up his models and props is amazingly minimal but to the point and strong and sexy.
he is my photography idol. love love his works
Absolutely love it
YEs! Really NICE!
wow! love how they showcase these pieces. Brilliant Idea.
Oh no. Shame I didn’t knew about him before
or I could’ve went to the museum as I live in Antwerp. =(
Guy Bourdin is absolutely fantastic.
i love the sense of mystery, of offhand observation, almost viewer intrusion, in his photos. good move of the designers to give him all the flex they did.
The Antwerp Fotomuseum has a really cool Bourdin exposition on till Sept 14th. Definitely worth checking out.
very interesting, thx so much!!

Why does this idiot keep talking about photoshop? Makes it sound like he knows nothing of contemporary photography…no one is going to spend a million hours on a computer trying to make it look like a model is hanging upside down instead of actually getting one to hang upside down and getting the work done in five minutes. Also, pretty much all the retouching etc possible on photoshop was possible in the darkroom.
