Cheap DSLR Shoulder Rig - PVC Camera Stabilizer - QUICK FX

(Also known as a Camera Stabilizer) I know there are all kinds of PVC shoulder rig tutorials on the web, but the design in this episode is made specifically for a DSLR camera!! More detailed information on the website: www.knoptop.com If you are searching online for the conduit box it is called “Pvc LR Conduit body” Here’s a link (look for cheap shipping tho) www.amazon.com Mini Movie submitted by: www.youtube.com Be sure to Rate, Comment, and Subscribe!! Nice!! How about car mounts?

Hey guys I have just created an awesome DIY fig rig. This one is not the same as the others on youtube-it has a focusing system that you use where your hands can still be holding handlebars! If you already have a fig rig, you can use the focusing system on it!

Thank you so much for this tutorial! I recently picked up a Canon T2i (which is awesome) but now I’m broke and I can’t afford a shoulder rig. Shooting video with your design is MUCH nicer, and more comfortable, than just holding the camera. I’m going to try out the mason jar opener follow focus soon. Great videos man, keep ‘em coming.

mrant617

it took me about 20mins to make and it works really well thanks

You’d have to do some customization for the mounts. But anything’s possible!

Knoptop

yep!

make a DIY Camera Handle please :)

universialpasserby22

Is that a Canon EOS Rebel T2i?

Thanks and just wondering would I be able to mount a Zoom H4N and a mic to this?

Knoptop

the filmriot rig looks really stable, but it’s kinda huge. You could probably make both for less then $20 if you can’t decide.

So if I am choosing between a DIY Shoulder rig, what should i choose the filmriot one or this one

What lens is on your DSLR?

AnthonyMichael777

That’s fantastic. I started one and I’m trying to add a slider to it. Very cool thanks!

total copy of BFX… just saying… like 100% knock off
HOWEVER: I do like your rig design
besides, BFX is over now so i guess it doesn’t matter any more :_(

Would you recommend adding some sort of weight inside the shoulder rest? I feel like this is most likely unbalanced. Just watching the video, it looks like none of the SLR’s weight actually rests on the shoulder.

Hi I’ve seen a number of comments from people in other countries or that just don’t have the time wanting to buy these rigs preassembled if you are interested comment or message me. Thanks

How high r u? This was by far the best DIY movie I’ve ever seen. You my friend, have empowered me to get off my lazy ass and make something!

I laughed soo hard when you realized that holding it with your left hand was better. Did you end up adjusting it after filming? What did you change? Do you think making it go on your left shoulder & holding with your right hand would work? I myself am a left hand focuser too.

Thanks!

HELP ME in my country they don’t sell those “PVC conduit boxes” i’m stuck now… i have 2 parts of my rig.. how do i finish it? i was thinkin of adding a 90° and put a bolt screw in it to mount my camera? what do you suggest?

sdutango

would the back part be too light that it actually won’t sit on your shoulder? plz reply! thx

mhillemond
