Out of the 109 entries submitted by Lake Ridge Academy students to this years exhibition, an amazing 82 were accepted for display and received awards! Lake Ridge students in grades 6th-12th received a total of 60 Honorable Mentions, 10 Silver Keys, and 10 Gold Key Awards for entries in photography, digital art, ceramics, drawing, painting, sculpture and film.
The highest award of the show, the American Vision Award, is the best in show and is given to only 5 Gold Key winners. Lake Ridge Academy students won 2 out of the 5 total American Vision Awards! Artwork receiving Gold Key and American Vision awards will be judged in New York and may go on to be entered in an exhibition which will travel the country.
Lake Ridge Academy Junior, Adam Moreno, also entered an original film titled Make It Stop: Bullying. Judging in the film division is still on-going.
The exhibition is currently on display at the Beth K. Stocker Art Gallery through February 3.
An Artists Gallery Reception, which is open to the public, is scheduled for Sunday, January 13, from 1:00-3:00 pm.
